  48.         This CD contains the ELSA Display Driver for Microsoft
  49.         Windows 95/98
  50.  
  51.         The driver supports 256, 65536 and 16 Million colors
  52.         in all resolutions available on used ELSA board.

  70.         In case of trouble during or after installation, please make
  71.         sure you have all the files mentioned above!

  76. 3.      Installation
  77.  
  78. 3.1     Installing ELSA graphics board for Windows 95/98
  79.  
  80.         Remove your "old" VGA and put the ELSA graphics board into your
  81.         computer. If your ELSA graphics adapter contains a VGA-switch, 
  82.         be sure that it's position is set to the "1" position (VGA 
  83.         enabled). 
  84.         On startup Windows 95/98 detects the ELSA graphics board as
  85.         "PCI early VGA Device" or a "PCI standard VGA adapter" and 
  86.         prompts for a manufacturer disk. Now browse through the ELSA CD 
  87.         and select the proper display driver subdirectory (eg. VICTORY2\
  88.         WIN9x). Windows will copy the driver files and prompt you 
  89.         to reboot the computer. After restarting, Windows is running 
  90.         with the ELSA display drivers active. If your ELSA graphics 
  91.         adapter is not the primary display adapter, you have to 
  92.         activate it by clicking on the connected monitor bitmap in 
  93.         the global windows display settings. The installation routine 
  94.         will additionally create the ELSA Settings and ELSA DirectX 
  95.         Settings property pages.

  97.         In all following Windows sessions you can change the
  98.         resolution without rebooting your system.

  120.         DirectDraw/Direct3D support
  121.  
  122.         The display driver do support DirectDraw/Direct3D, but to
  123.         use it in an application, you must install DirectDraw/
  124.         Direct3D. The Microsoft DirectDraw/Direct3D components are
  125.         not included in the standard retail version of Windows 95.
  126.         You need an installation of DirectX 6.

  128.         To install DirectDraw/Direct3D start the program DX6ENG.EXE in
  129.         the directory \MSAPPS\DIRECTX6\WIN95\ENG on the ELSA CD.

  136.         This section documents known anomalies or problems and gives
  137.         hints on work arounds.

  139.         Switching Duke3D between fullscreen and windowed mode
  140.         (using ALT-ENTER) sometimes crashes the system.
